Why aren't steps displayed immediately?
Apple Health collects data and sends it at intervals (2–3 minutes) to preserve battery life.
If your iPhone is in power saving mode or restricts background app refresh, the update may be delayed.
Useful iOS tip: force the update manually
This method works on most iPhones and can be very useful, especially for specialized challenges or to ensure that the last steps of the day are counted.
- Open the Health app (Apple Health).
- Tap the number of steps displayed to open the detailed view.
- Swipe down to refresh the data.
- Force close the Health app, then open the app again.
- You should now see your updated step count!
Now open WeWard: your step count should now be up to date.
Other tips for optimizing the pedometer
Enable all necessary permissions: Health, Motion & Fitness, Background Refresh.
Disable power saving mode and background limitations.
Check that WeWard is among the apps authorized to collect data in the background.
If the problem persists, restart your device.
