With WeWard, you have 2 separate screens to measure and track the progress of your steps. This can sometimes be confusing, but here's what you need to know 👇
🟢 2 screens, two different sources of information
| Screen | What does it show? | Where does the data come from? |
|---|---|---|
| The number of steps you have converted into Wards | Each time you validate in the app, we collect data from Google Fit or Apple Health |
From the My progress tab available in your profile | The total number of steps recorded by your phone | We download all historical activity from Google Fit or Apple Health |
❓ Why are the numbers not the same?
Your phone records all your steps throughout the day (via its internal sensors).
The WeWard app only converts your steps into Wards if you open the app with an Internet connection and validate your steps.
If you do not validate your steps during the day, they are lost and cannot be converted into Wards.
✅ How can I avoid "losing" steps?
Open the app at least once a day to validate your steps.
Keep your phone with you (in your pocket, in your hand, on an armband, etc.) so that the sensors can detect your movements.
Enable reminder notifications in the app settings so you don't forget to validate your steps.
📌 Please note
WeWard cannot convert 100% of the steps recorded by your phone. Some activities (e.g., walking on a treadmill with your phone in your hand) are not recognized as actual walking.
Unconverted steps do not disappear: they are simply visible in Apple Health or Google Fit, but cannot be transferred to the app once they have expired.
The same applies if you manually add steps or synchronize them from other sources using third-party apps.
